<title>Heritage Weekend Approaches</title>

<description><![CDATA[ Heritage Open Days: 10   12 September 2010

	After great success last year the Heritage weekend returns as one of the premier opportunities to explore the architectural and cultural heritage of Guildford borough completely free of charge.

	Across the weekend there will be over 100 things to see and do on offer thanks to the work of Guildford Borough Council, Guildford Town Guides and the Guildford Society.

	Joining the event for the first time is the Alexander Dennis Ltd factory at Slyfield, marking their 115th year in Guildford. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy new guided walks that focus on public art in the town centre and an opportunity to explore Shalford village.

<title>Cycle Thefts Reported</title>

<description><![CDATA[ In the last month Guildford has seen a significant spike in Cycle thefts in the town area including the University, Train Station, Town centre and Ladymead. Surrey Police are currently working hard to identify the cuplrits however there are a number of simple things you can do to lower the chances of bike theft.

	
		Use two locks - one should be a D lock.
	
		Use any available   technology. Be sure that it is clear to a thief that the bike has been marked.
	
		Leave the bike in a low or high gear (making it initially harder to cycle away).
	
		Register your property at www.immobilise.com. or www.bikeregister.com
	
		Use recognised cycle storage areas - these are often covered by CCTV cameras and are in well trodden parts of town. If you have to park it elsewhere try not to p... ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[ At 7.30pm on Friday 2nd July a team of some of Guildford s finest theatrical performers and techinicians will gather at the Electric theatre, their task: to learn, rehearse and polish a show in just 24 hours.

	The show, which even the cast do not yet know, will open at 7.30pm on Saturday 3rd July at the Electric Theatre, Guildford.

<description><![CDATA[ On Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th April Guildford celebrated St George s Day in style. As well as the decorated North Street Market the town welcomed St George, some wandering minstrels, Henry V, Chelsea In the Community and some sword fight demonstrators into the town.

There are two performances that sweep shoppers up in the story. Action starts with the trial of Jesus at the corner of Quarry Street and the High Street, ending with the crucifixion and resurrection outside Holy Trinity Church at the top.
