Read a headline about a ‘national brick event’ and you would be forgiven for wondering who cares that much about bricks to hold an event about them. This is not a day focussed around the kinds of bricks that you would use to build a house to live in, however. Instead, this is all about the world of LEGO, which seems to be more popular now than it has ever been. It is a chance for people to head along and take a look at some retired sets, as well as have a look at some incredible displays that will wow and amaze anyone who loves their LEGO.
What It’s All About

Whatever age you are, if you are a LEGO lover then there is a real chance that you will enjoy every minute of the National Brick Event that is taking place in Guildford on the 21st of February 2026. It is the ultimate place to head to for anyone with an affinity for plastic bricks, promising a fun-filled day of creativity and excitement, with a fair degree of nostalgia thrown in for the grownups. It really doesn’t matter whether you’re someone who wants to take their kids along because of how much they love LEGO, a collector or even just an AFOL (Adult Fan Of LEGO), this event is for you.
There are countless different things available for you to get up to, including the ability to dive into one of the massive brick pits that are overflowing with LEGO bricks, giving you the chance to allow your imagination to run wild as you look to build something only you can see in your head. Other builders have done just that, which is why you can have a look at their creations that showcase their ability to be creative with what is essentially just a piece of coloured plastic. There are also interactive mosaics, which you can join in with to contribute to the collaborative process.
When & Where

If you read the word ‘LEGO’ and decided you were in, you might be wondering where in the world it is taking place. The National Brick Event in Guildford is being hosted at the Surrey Sports Park, which is on Richard Meyjes Road in the town. You will need to head there on the 21st of February 2026, with the event starting at 10am and lasting until 4pm. That, though, only tells half the story, with different ticket entry times being available for you to choose from. You can opt for either a general admission ticket, which will let you in from a selected time, or an Early Bird offering.
Here are the various ticket types available:
- Early Bird – Entry from 10am
- General Admission – Entry from 11am
- General Admission Family – Entry from 11am

A family ticket is for two adults and two children aged between five and 12, with anyone under the age of five going for free. Although you are asked to purchase a ticket for a specific time, you can arrive later than the time on your ticket. Times are specified in order to help manage the flow of visitors and ensure that it isn’t too crowded at any given time. The only thing you can’t do is enter earlier than your allotted time, with General Admission tickets not able to enter during the 10am to 11pm slot that is assigned to holders of Early Bird tickets.
A Chance to Buy Rare Sets

This is very much an event for the lover of LEGO, regardless of their age. Whilst there are dedicated areas for playing with LEGO, which include a play area especially for children, it is also a chance for LEGO collectors to get their hands on rare and even previously retired LEGO sets. It might sound strange, but LEGO does decide to pull some sets out of circulation, which means that you can’t get hold of them via any of the usual means. Instead, you need to get in touch with collectors and people who just happened to buy them at the time but never actually build them.
Equally, there are some sets that LEGO didn’t release a huge number of, which become rare over time. If you are the sort of person that likes to get something unique, then this is your opportunity to do just that. The various sellers of such LEGO sets head along to these events in order to give you the chance to buy their LEGO that they’re willing to let go of (or should that be LEGO of?). If you want to sell some LEGO of your own, then you’re able to, you just need to get in touch with National Brick Events. There are also just normal LEGO sets for sale here too.
Of course, more than anything else, LEGO is about having fun and being creative. That is why you will be given plenty of opportunity to play with some LEGO in your own time, or head along to one of the numerous minifigure stalls where you can get your hands on one of the minifigures that might well be missing from your collection. This promises to be a day filled with enjoyment for people of all ages, so if you’re close to Guildford and you like your LEGO, then you might want to ensure that you get your tickets for the event before they sell out entirely.
