North Street Market
- Where: North Street
- When: Friday & Saturday
- Time: During Regular Shopping Hours
The North Street Market, not to be confused with the Guildford Farmers’ Market, is the smaller of the outdoor farmers’ markets in Guildford. The market takes place in the centre of town on a Friday and a Saturday and offers at least 20 different stalls, which sell fresh freshly grown produce, such as vegetables and fruit, as well as meats, cheeses, freshly baked bread and pastries, flowers, and speciality food items, such as olives and coffee.
In addition to perishable items, the market also offers a selection of goods, such as handbags, clothes and jewellery – much of which is hand-crafted by locals in and around the Guildford / Surrey area.
As well as being one of the best places to pick up the freshest ingredients for your dinner party, a visit to the North Street Market also supports local growers and vendors who live in and around the community.
How To Get There
North Street runs parallel to the High Street and is just a 5-10 minute stroll from the Guildford Train Station. The Friary Centre – a shopping mall in Guildford – is also located on the top of North Street, so when you’re done browsing the market, you can continue your shopping spree indoors!
For parking, there are number of multi-storey car parks, such as Leapale Road Car Park (on Leapale Road) and Castle Car Park (on Sydenham Road), which are just a short walk away.
